Raise the Roof Concert

Raise the Roof Concert was a big success for the Historical Society.
The concert was to raise money to replace the 22 year old roof on the Watts House Pioneer Museum.

A special thanks to all those who volunteered their time to help me plan and
participate in it.

Bart Hafeman was wonderful (as usual).  Food was yummy and was provided by H&H Sweets and Sloppy Dogs.  The Altzheimers Assoc sold cookies for humans and pets.

The beer garden was hosted by the St. Helens Elks, but accompanying them were Ye Ole' Grog, who served a wonderful "Adult Shaved Ice", and NW Distillery who's samples were really good.

Concert at the Gazebo in Heritage Park

The plans for the July 28, 2013 concert in Heritage Park are coming together nicely

We have secured, as mentioned, Bart Hafeman and his group to play for the evening...YEA Bart!!

The St. Helens Elks are all ready to go with the beer/wine garden.
We have a commitment from Ye Ole' Grog and NW Distillery to have tasting, by the glass and bottle sales.  All three will be located within a fenced area per OLCC rules.

The fenced in area will be towards the back of the concert area to allow families to fully enjoy the up front area.

Our tea tickets are completely sold out for both teas.
Thank you to those who will be joining us.
Watch for next year the teas will be back.

If you still would like to attend our teas we only have about 15 tickets left for May 11th.  May 4th is totally sold out.

We are lucky to have many ladies returning this year that attended last year.  The word spread fast that it was going to be High Tea again this year and they are so excited to attended again.

This will be a six course tea:

#1  Cold Strawberry Soup
#2  Lemon Sorbet to cleanse the palette
#3  Tea Sandwiches - three kinds
#4  Savory items

Wine-Down Downtown Event

The Wine-Down Downtown event to promote local businesses was held last Saturday night and was a huge success.

We had over 70 visitors to the Watts House.  They ate good food, drank coffee and punch (we couldn't have wine at the last minute due to insurance issues).  They didn't seem to mind at all that there was no wine.

I understand from talking to the other businesses that participated that people were raving about the Watts House and the delicious food we served.

Watts House Teas

It's getting close to spring time!  The sun this day has been outstanding!

The Watts House is having two High Teas this year.  May 4th and 11th.

Tickets are $20 and are on sale now.  Teas will be from noon - 3pm.

Lots of new food items along with the traditional English tea items.

You can check the web site for reservation request or call Barb at 503 961-5621.

We sold out of tickets in two days last year so please make your reservations early.

TEA TIME

It's TEA TIME in May at the Watts House

There will be two teas this year
May  4, 2013
May 11, 2013
Both will be 12:00 noon to 3:00pm

Tickets are on sale April 1, 2013 and can be purchased by calling Barb at (503) 961-5621 or visiting our website for information and ticket request form.

Our English Tea format was so successful last year that we are keeping the tradition going.  However, there will be new menu items, entertainment and door prizes.

Tea items (and other gifts) will be on sale the day of the tea.

2013 Planning

The 2013 event planning is already underway at the Historical Society.

Currently we are working on the Tea that will be in May.  We have had such overwhelming inquiries about it we are thinking we will be holding two teas this year.  The dates we are focusing on are May 4th and 11th.  I will keep you posted once the final decision has been made which will be next week.

Also, the planning for the Car Show in August is has begun.  We are expanding the show this year and plan on many more vendors (food, gifts/crafts and  informational).
